Kindergarten Registration for 2018–19

The Great Neck Public Schools Office of Registration reminds all resident parents and guardians that enrollment for kindergarten for the 2018–2019 school year will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 16, and run schooldays through Friday, Jan. 26, from 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Registration will be held at the Office of Registration, Phipps Administration Building, 345 Lakeville Road. It is not necessary to bring your child.
All children who will attend public or private school kindergarten in September 2018 must be registered. In order to be eligible to enroll, children must have been born between Dec. 2, 2012, and Dec. 1, 2013.
If a kindergarten registration packet has not been received in the mail, it may be picked up at the Office of Registration, or the registration forms can be downloaded from the district website at
Please bring the following information to registration: (1) Proof of district residency (deed, current tax bill, or closing statement if ownership; current signed lease or current rent receipts, if rental). (2) Three pieces of current, official mail. Online mail is not acceptable. (3) Child’s original birth certificate. (4) Parent or guardian valid photo ID. (5) Parental control papers (if applicable). (6) Immunization certificate signed and stamped by a physician or other authorized health agency.

UPK Registration

Enrollment for the Great Neck Public Schools Universal Prekindergarten Program (UPK) remains open for the 2018–19 school year. This program is offered to all Great Neck School District residents at no cost. To be enrolled, children must be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2018.
The UPK program is located primarily at the Parkville School, 10 Campbell St., New Hyde Park. There are morning and afternoon sessions. Bus transportation is provided to and from the Parkville location.
In compliance with the New York State Education Department, some students can attend the Great Neck Community School, the collaborative agency, at 225 Schenck Ave., Great Neck. The school district does not provide transportation for this location.
Enrollment for UPK is held at the Phipps Administration Building, 345 Lakeville Rd., Great Neck. Call the Registrar’s Office at (516) 441-4080 for information and to obtain a registration packet.
